Dining at the
Hearth
The traditional Irish Hearth was the central gathering place in an old Irish home and farmhouse, where the fire was always burning and meals were prepared.
It was always the heart of the home, a place where people gathered, to prepare and eat food from the land and discuss matters of home and family. During these sit-ins, alliances were struck, marriage matches were made and stories, both entertaining and sacred, both fanciful and historical were recounted.
