Dining at the
Hearth
Throughout our history, the restaurant area of Johnnie Fox’s has been affectionately known as The Hearth.
The traditional Irish Hearth was always the heart of old Irish homes, where the fire was always burning and meals were prepared.
It served as a central hub, where loved ones would gather, free from judgement, to prepare and eat produce from the fertile land, to discuss matters of home and family. During these sit-ins, alliances were struck, marriage matches were made and stories, both entertaining and sacred, both fanciful and historical were recounted. At Johnnie Fox’s, “Dining at the Hearth” aims to capture the essence of this cherished tradition.
